Adaptive Reuse: From Hospital to Mixed-Use Hub
This project transforms a former hospital—a decade-old structure at a crossroads between demolition and reinvention—into a vibrant, multi-functional complex. Confronted with the client's need for a diverse program, the redesign introduces a grocery store, a motel with rental apartments, and private residences for an extended family, all within the preserved original framework.
The design is a testament to architectural agility, achieving a delicate work-life balance for its occupants. The most significant intervention involves the strategic vertical expansion of four new stories, engineered to maintain the existing structure's integrity. This is complemented by the integration of a fully custom HVAC and circulation system, breathing new life into the building and ensuring its functionality for generations to come.
